Job summary

The Halter Group, Evansville, IN, is seeking experienced or entry-level team members to join our tree service crew. You will assist arborists with removals, pruning, and debris disposal, and operate chainsaws/chippers under supervision. Safety is our core priority as you learn on the job.

Valid drivers license required; CDL A or B is a plus with pay incentives for CDL B training. You must lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in all weather, and may travel to nearby areas.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driverers license and willingness to drive in service area.
• CDL A or B preferred and may include training incentives for CDL B.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for customer interactions.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Experience with chainsaws/chippers is preferred; training available for eager learners.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance duties as directed by Foreman with safety-first mindset.
• Assist arborists with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposal.
• Learn techniques and proper tool use from senior crew members.
• Safely operate tools and equipment like chippers and chainsaws.
• Keep sites clean and hazard-free; inspect and maintain equipment as needed.
• Report issues or safety hazards to Foreman or supervisors.
• Participate in general groundskeeping tasks as required.

We are looking for experienced / non-experienced, men and woman who are responsible, hardworking and reliable to join our team. A clear, valid driver's license is required and a CDL A or B is preferred.

This will position will service the Evansville, Mt Vernon, Jaspar, and Lynnville, IN surrounding areas but may have some travel.

*We are willing to invest in our staff by assisting with obtaining CDL B license if you are willing to invest in your growth by preparing and meeting timely goals to obtain CDL B permit and perform the assignments to satisfy the DOT requirements for CDL B.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman with a safety-first mindset.
• Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
• Assisting Arborists with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposals.
• Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew
  members.
• Safely using tools and equipment like chippers and chainsaws to carry out maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring all sites are kept clean and free of hazards.
• Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required.
• Using the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.
• Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
• Perform general groundskeeping duties as needed.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License
• CDL is a plus (pay incentive)
• Bilingual is a plus
• able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and work outdoors in all weather.
• Experience with chainsaws/chippers preferred, but training is availablefor eager learners.
• The ability to transport heavy items.
• Excellent balance and depth perception.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong commitment to safety and a desire to learn from experienced crew.

• 8-9 - hour shifts pending situtation
• Monday to Friday
