Job summary

Joshua Tree Experts in Fairfield County, CT is seeking an experienced Tree Care Groundsman to support a 2-4 person crew in removal, pruning, stump grinding and chipping operations. You will coordinate with climbers, manage site safety, and help maintain equipment and customer service on every job.

The role requires physical fitness, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in diverse weather.

Qualifications

Minimum of two year experience in Tree Care Operations.
Valid driver’s license.
At least 21 years of age.
Ability to work 40 hours or more each week.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
Excellent ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily.
Ensure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and public.
Perform pruning and reducing.
Safely use tree care operations equipment including gas powered saws, pole saws/clips, and chippers.
Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush and debris.
Reports to work on time each day.
Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers.
Maintain professional image.
Provide friendly and excellent customer service.
Maintain and service equipment, as needed.
Follows safety culture and safety procedures.
Set up safety and traffic control measures for job sites.
