Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Tree Care Groundperson for outdoor work in Nashville, TN. You will assist climbers and crew members, performing pruning and removal work while ensuring safety and quality for clients.

Ideal candidates will be outdoors- oriented, able to lift 50 pounds, and complete Davey training programs upon hire; pesticide licenses are a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and related certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: Previous experience in tree care or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist the climbers, foreman and other crew members.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully including pruning, thinning and removing deadwood.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Be part of the greenspace stewardship team.

What You’ll Do:
