Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Nashville, TN is seeking a Tree Care Groundperson to join our outdoor-focused team. You will assist climbers and foremen, performing pruning, removal, and canopy work while using chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete orientation program on hire.
• Ability to complete First Aid/CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Preferred: pesticides licenses if state law requires.
• Preferred: prior tree care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist climbers, foreman, and crew members.
• Perform tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood in tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Be part of the greenspace stewardship team.

What You'll Do:

• You will assist the climbers, foreman, and other crew members.
• Performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightening protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Be part of the most progressive greenspace stewardship team in the industry!

What We're Looking For:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: Previous experience in tree care or related industry
