The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Tree Care Groundperson in Nashville, TN. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll work with climbers and crews to perform pruning, removal and related tree-care services while keeping safety a top priority.

You’ll maintain tools and operate equipment like chainsaws and lifts, contributing to a leading greenspace stewardship team. This permanent, full-time role offers growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work suitability and physical fitness required.
• Complete orientation and safety courses on hire.
• First Aid and CPR training completed on hire or soon after.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and handle equipment safely.
• Pesticide licenses are a plus where state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Assist climbers, foreman and crew on tree care jobs.
• Perform pruning, thinning and removal safely; install cables and protections.
• Maintain and operate saws, chippers, lifts and related gear.
• Be a member of a progressive greenspace stewardship team.

What You'll Do:

• You will assist the climbers, foreman, and other crew members.
• Performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients Including but not limited to:
  • Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
  • Installation of cables, bracing and lightening protection systems
  • Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Be part of the most progressive greenspace stewardship team in the industry!

What We’re Looking For:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: Previous experience in tree care or related industry
