Overview
Gateway Rehab offers an exciting opportunity for a Treatment Support Technician 1 at our Washington, PA location. This role involves facilitating programming and maintaining the therapeutic environment, with supervision and guidance provided.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate discussion groups and activities.
- Monitor patient behavior.
- Conduct handbook orientation.
- Search patient belongings, rooms, and persons.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and patients.
- Assist patients with assessment forms.
- Coordinate communication with family, friends, and referral sources.
- Assist with crisis intervention.
- Document patient interactions in progress notes.
- Collect urine samples and handle drug screening paperwork.
- Provide post-discharge contacts and referrals under therapist guidance.
- Monitor and document medication intake, if applicable.
- Assist in the gift shop, if applicable.
- Manage menu and nutrition needs, if applicable.
- Handle donations and patient requests, if relevant.
- Supervise smoke breaks in the hospital setting, if applicable.
- Complete intake paperwork as needed.
- Oversee clients' ADLs, including chores, behaviors, and grooming.
- Remain on duty until relieved.
- Attend mandatory trainings and in-services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of 12-step programs and recovery support preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Listen without judgment.
- Show empathy and understanding.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Pass PA Criminal History Record Check.
- Obtain PA or other state child abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
- Complete CPR/First Aid training.
- Pass drug screening and TB testing.
- Mandatory staffing coverage to ensure a safe environment.
- Remain alert and awake during shifts.
- If in recovery, attest to at least 18 months of sobriety.
