Gateway Rehab has an outstanding opportunity for a Treatment Support Technician 2 in our Westmoreland, PA location. Our Technician facilitates programming and ensures the integrity of the therapeutic milieu. This position receives supervision and instruction regularly.

Description

Gateway Rehab is seeking a Treatment Support Technician 2 to support our programs. The role involves facilitating activities, monitoring patients, conducting orientations, and assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks to support patient recovery and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Facilitate discussion groups and activities.
2. Monitor patient behavior.
3. Conduct handbook orientation.
4. Search patient belongings, rooms, and persons.
5. Act as a liaison between clinical staff and patients.
6. Assist patients with assessment forms.
7. Communicate with family, friends, and referral sources.
8. Assist with crisis intervention.
9. Transport patients to meetings, if applicable.
10. Document patient interactions in progress notes.
11. Collect urine samples and complete drug screening paperwork.
12. Provide post-discharge contacts/referrals under therapist guidance.
13. Monitor and document medication intake, if applicable.
14. Assist in gift shop operations, if applicable.
15. Manage menu and nutrition needs, if applicable.
16. Handle donations and patient requests, if applicable.
17. Supervise smoke breaks in hospital settings, if applicable.
18. Complete intake paperwork as needed.
19. Monitor clients’ ADLs, including chores, behaviors, and grooming.
20. Remain on duty until relieved.
21. Attend mandatory training and in-services.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

1. Knowledge of 12-step programs and recovery support preferred.
2. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
3. Effective communication skills.
4. Ability to listen non-judgmentally.
5. Show empathy and understanding towards patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college education preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Pass PA Criminal History Record Check.
• Obtain PA or State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
• Obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Pass drug screening and TB testing.
• Mandatory staffing coverage when necessary for safety.
• Must remain alert and awake during shifts.
• If in recovery, at least 18 months of sobriety required.

• Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center environment.
• Favorable working conditions with minimal physical demand.
• Moderate mental demands to handle multiple requests.
