Gateway Rehab has an outstanding opportunity for a Treatment Support Technician 2 in our Westmoreland, PA location. Our Technician facilitates programming and assures the integrity of the therapeutic milieu. This position receives frequent supervision and instruction.

Responsibilities

  1. Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
  2. Monitors patient behavior.
  3. Conducts handbook orientation.
  4. Conducts searches of patient belongings, rooms and person.
  5. Acts as a liaison between clinical staff and patients.
  6. Assists patients in completion of patient assessment forms.
  7. Assists with phone calls to family members/friends and referral sources.
  8. Assists with crises intervention.
  9. Transports patients to meetings, if applicable.
  10. Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
  11. Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
  12. Provides post-discharge contacts/referrals under therapist direction.
  13. Monitors medication taken by clients and documents accordingly, if applicable.
  14. Works in the gift shop, if applicable.
  15. Manages menu and nutrition needs if applicable.
  16. Manages donation and patient requests, if applicable to the location.
  17. Monitors smoke breaks in the hospital setting, if applicable.
  18. Completes intake paperwork as needed.
  19. Monitors clients’ ADLs - including chores, behaviors, and grooming issues.
  20. Remains on duty until relieved.
  21. Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
  22. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or other recovery support and/or addictions preferred.
  2. Ability to adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  3. Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  4. Ability to listen to patients without judgement.
  5. Ability to show empathy and understanding to patients.

Requirements

  1. High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Requirements

  1. Some college preferred.

Additional Requirements

  1. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record which allows the ability to drive patients to and from appointments, support groups, activities or other travel as assigned.
  2. Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check.
  3. Obtain PA or a State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
  4. Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  5. Pass Drug Screen
  6. TB Testing
  7. This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway residents.
  8. Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
  9. If living a life of recovery, must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.
