Job summary

The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center in O'Fallon, MO is seeking a part-time Treatment Support Specialist to monitor the Substance Abuse Program across Detox, Residential, and Outpatient settings. This role includes duties of an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment while assisting clients to achieve goals.

This position is 24 hours per week at $15 per hour, with a focus on confidentiality, teamwork, and mission-driven service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client evaluation interviews and assess treatment needs, develop treatment plans.
• Perform breathalyzer and urinalysis testing.
• Conduct routine search and seizure procedures.
• Orient clients upon admission into the program.
• Conduct financial screenings and accept clients according to policy.
• Answer phones and screen or refer to Intake Coordinator.
• Counsel detox clients about treatment options and referrals.
• Refer eligible clients to MAT in consultation with ACS/Counselor.
• Lead group counseling activities in Residential or Outpatient settings.
• Lead group education sessions for Residential, Outpatient and Family Support per ACS.

The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a part‑time Treatment Support Specialist. This individual willmonitor all activities associated with the Substance Abuse Program including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Programs. EssentialFunctions:

1. Conduct client evaluation interviews, assess type of treatment required, develop treatment plan; include screenings and intakes when admitted into treatment.
2. Perform clients’ breathalyzer and urinalysis.
3. Conduct routine search and seizure procedures.

6. Answer phones and conduct screening and place on waitlist or refer to Intake Coordinator.

9. Conduct group counseling activities; Residential or Outpatient Treatment Services per ACS.

Required within 60 days of employment:

Hepatitis A vaccine documentation required by the City of St. Louis Health Department. Annual TB test. Current CPR certificate. Serv-Safe Certification. Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor Certification (for all daytime staff performing groups).

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Occasionally lifts 20 pounds and sometimes up to 40 pounds. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment.
