Job summary

Republic Services’ laboratory team seeks a skilled chemist to perform chemical analyses of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, supporting compliant treatment and disposal. You will execute EPA methods, prepare samples, document results, and help develop SOPs under supervision while ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality within a busy lab environment.

Ideal candidates bring 4–7 years of related experience, proficiency with data processing and reporting, and familiarity with RCRA/TSCA regulations.

Qualifications

4 - 7 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in waste disposal, chemistry, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Performs preparation techniques and instrumental analysis of environmental samples using EPA methods.
Participates in the generation of SOPs and Work Instructions (WI) under supervision.
Prepares samples for laboratory equipment.
Utilizes instrument sequencing and data processing; performs basic instrument maintenance and maintains documentation.
Validates methods for testing organics and inorganics using various processes and instruments.
Performs IDOC prior to data reporting and maintains annual DOC for each method.
Identifies chemical content of materials and researches appropriate treatment studies.
Provides technical knowledge to develop formulas, enhance processes, and solve technical problems.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Familiar with quality control measures and calculations for applicable methods.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
