Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct tests and chemical analyses using laboratory equipment. The role involves handling both non-hazardous and hazardous materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory procedures.

You will collect and analyze samples, document results, calibrate instruments, and participate in hazardous waste collection and processing events.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience utilizing laboratory equipment to conduct tests and chemical analyses.
• Ability to collect environmental samples and follow protocols for sample integrity.

Responsibilities

• Collects, receives, labels, and analyzes samples using correct testing equipment.
• Collects environmental monitoring samples and ensures regulatory compliance and sample integrity.
• Designs and executes laboratory testing, records observations, and interprets findings.
• Organizes and stores chemical substances according to safety instructions.
• Follows safety guidelines and maintains daily logs and equipment records.
• Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates laboratory equipment.
• Performs hazardous waste collection and processing at special facilities and events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
