Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Treasury Specialist FS1 in Richmond, VA to conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling, prepare debt issuance documents, and validate debt payments.

The role supports university cash management and investment oversight with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Ideal candidates will have a finance-related degree, 3–5 years in financial modeling and debt management, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration or equivalent experience
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to develop financial models, interpret financial data, and draw sound conclusions
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate, high-quality work and effectively review the work of others
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques and applying them effectively to financial analysis
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with shared responsibilities
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage deadlines, and work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels both within and outside the university
  • Three to five years of applicable work experience in financial modeling, accounting, debt management, and investment operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting Business Administration,or a related discipline

  • Multiple years of progressive experience in higher education or asimilar industry, with a focus on debt, investments, and customerservice

  • Knowledge of public finance, including bond financing, debtstructures, and credit enhancement instruments

  • Experience working at an agency of the Commonwealth in afinancial analyst capacity, or equivalent


Salary Range:

$77,200 – $104,100
