Fannie Mae in Washington, DC is offering a 10-week Treasury & Capital Markets internship (June 7, 2027–August 13, 2027) with a set hourly rate of $35.00 and a potential pathway to full-time opportunities. Based at the Midtown Center office, this internship places you on the Market Room trading floor to gain hands-on exposure to MBS and fixed-income markets.

The Quantitative Research Track emphasizes math, statistics, programming, data science, machine learning, and financial modeling;

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Academic achievement (preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher).
• Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative research and statistical analysis on financial and market data to evaluate hypotheses, identify patterns, and support pricing, trading, risk management, and business decisions
• Develop reproducible analyses, data visualizations, and research tools using programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
• Prototype, test, validate, and monitor valuation, forecasting, pricing, and risk models
• Apply machine-learning and artificial-intelligence tools responsibly to improve analytical capabilities, automate workflows, and extract insights from large or complex datasets
• Evaluate model performance, document methodologies and assumptions, and communicating findings to technical and nontechnical audiences
• Collaborate with traders, analysts, modelers, and technology partners to translate market and business questions into analytical solutions
