The Treasury Management & Special Deposits Onboarding Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for commercial and special deposit clients during onboarding and implementation, ensuring a seamless transition to the bank through personalized service and the successful implementation of Treasury Solutions and Special Deposit services. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that drives client satisfaction, Treasury Solutions adoption, successful Special Deposit and Lockbox implementation, and long‑term relationship success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial client onboarding, partnering with Business Development Officers throughout the first 90 days of the customer relationship.
- Coordinate or assist with commercial account openings including collecting proper documentation, signature cards and resolutions, along with all Due Diligence and Customer Identification Program Requirements,
- Coordinate or assist with Treasury Solutions implementations including Business Digital Banking, ACH Origination, Wire Services, Positive Pay, Remote Deposit Capture, Lockbox, and other treasury products.
- Develop and maintain deep working knowledge of the bank's Lockbox operation, including customer setup, processing workflows, remittance requirements, reporting, exception handling, file delivery, and ongoing customer support requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of the technical connections that support Special Deposit and Lockbox relationships, including SFTP/secure file delivery, file formats and mapping, transmission schedules, reconciliation/reporting feeds, API and other system integration concepts, testing, exception handling, and production cutovers.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, Business Development Officers, Treasury Management/Lockbox Operations, IT, digital/core providers, and third‑party software vendors when technical onboarding or integration support is required.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for Special Deposit relationships, including Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs), Public Utility Districts (PUDs), Municipal Management Districts, Emergency Service Districts (ESDs), Water Control & Improvement Districts, other special‑purpose governmental districts, tax collection firms, and district management or administration companies.
- Guide customers through any new bank account, Special Deposit, Lockbox, or bank transition pain points, ensuring a smooth conversion with minimal business disruption. These may include check orders, setting up payable templates, changing receivable solution account numbers, establishing Lockbox processing instructions, or coordinating other deposit and receivables transition requirements.
- Conduct personalized Digital Banking, Treasury Solutions, Special Deposit, and Lockbox training, ensuring customers are confident and proficient in using the bank's products and services.
- Manage implementation timelines and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion, including coordination with Treasury Management Operations and Lockbox Operations.
- Conduct proactive customer follow‑up to ensure successful adoption of Treasury Solutions, Special Deposit services, and Lockbox processes and resolve customer issues.
- Ensure all customer onboarding deliverables including documentation, implementation milestones, Lockbox setup requirements, training, and follow‑up are completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to expand Treasury Solutions, Special Deposit services, Lockbox utilization, and deepen customer relationships.
- Support Business Development Officers, including Special Deposits‑focused BDOs, with customer meetings and information collection.
- Maintain and manage deposit pipeline, onboarding documentation, Special Deposit and Lockbox implementation records.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance the customer experience.
- Monitor customer satisfaction during onboarding and escalate issues requiring immediate attention.
- Assist with department projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of banking or related financial services experience.
- Working knowledge of CIP, CDD, BSA/AML, and commercial account opening requirements.
- Basic knowledge of business banking products, Treasury Management services, and digital banking platforms.
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship management skills.
Preferred
- Experience onboarding commercial clients or coordinating banking relationship transitions.
- Knowledge of ACH, Wires, Positive Pay, RDC, Account Analysis, Commercial Digital Banking, Special Deposits, PCS, Lockbox services, SFTP/file transmission processes, and API or system integration concepts
