Job summary

We are partnered with a well-established commercial general contractor seeking a Travelling Superintendent to join their team. The role focuses on owning projects from groundbreaking through closeout, with extensive travel along the East Coast.

You will manage day-to-day operations on commercial, retail and light industrial projects, supervise subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and drive projects to on-time completion while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Experience delivering retail, commercial or light industrial projects.
• Strong scheduling, safety, quality control and subcontractor management.
• Ability to lead teams and maintain client relationships.
• Willingness to travel across the East Coast.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects from mobilization to handover.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel to meet safety, schedule and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules with the Project Manager to hit milestones.
• Conduct daily site walks, toolbox talks and safety meetings per OSHA and company safety standards.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and resolve site issues before impacting schedule.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure work meets project requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors and subcontractors.
• Manage punch lists, inspections and project closeout for a smooth handover.
• Travel extensively across the East Coast for retail, commercial and light industrial projects.

We are currently partnered with a well-established commercial general contractor that currently have an opening for a Travelling Superintendent to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road, taking ownership of projects from groundbreaking through to closeout, and working with a contractor that has a strong pipeline of repeat business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects from site mobilization through to final handover.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules while working closely with the Project Manager to achieve key project milestones.
• Conduct daily site walks, toolbox talks and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and proactively resolve site issues before they impact the schedule.
• Review drawings and specifications, ensuring work is completed in accordance with project requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage punch lists, inspections and project closeout, ensuring a smooth handover to the client.
• Travel extensively throughout the East Coast, with projects focused on retail, commercial and light industrial construction.

What We\'re Looking For:

5+ years of experience as a Superintendent within commercial construction.

Experience delivering retail, commercial or light industrial projects.

Strong understanding of scheduling, safety, quality control and subcontractor management.

Ability to lead teams and maintain excellent client relationships.

Willingness to travel across the East Coast.
