  • Plan daily work assignments, sequence operations, and balance resource allocation across active job sites.
  • Conduct daily job-hazard safety briefings and enforce all company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Monitor crew attendance and manage production tracking.
  • Oversee all underground construction operations, including horizontal directional drilling (HDD), hydro-excavation, open trenching, vibratory plowing, and vault/pedestal placement.
  • Ensure accurate depth requirements, separation distances, and conduit installation meet customer engineering specifications and local building/right-of-way codes.
  • Verify fiber/cable jetting, pulling, and proofing operations comply with contract engineering guidelines.
  • Address and resolve unexpected field conditions, utility conflicts, and design variations promptly.
  • Oversee blue stakes, confirming all utility marks are verified, potholed, and exposed before mechanized digging or boring begins.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with local municipal inspectors, DOT officials, and private property owners.
  • Ensure environmental controls (sediment fencing, site restoration, asphalt/concrete patching, cleanup) are fully adhered to upon project phase completion.
  • Review project blueprints, engineering schematics, splicing diagrams, and right-of-way permits to ensure correct field execution.
  • Submit accurate daily production logs, tracking footage, equipment hours, material consumption, and job milestones.
  • Interface regularly with Project Managers, dispatch, warehouse personnel, and client representatives to communicate schedule progress or delays.
  • Work is performed outdoors in varied weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or dust.
  • Regular exposure to heavy machinery, active traffic corridors, and construction environments.
  • Ability to walk rough terrain, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50–75 lbs as operational needs require.
  • Willingness to travel regionally across project footprints and work overtime or on-call as needed to hit project deadlines.
