Job summary

Tiello is seeking a Traveling Structural Steel Erection Superintendent to lead large-scale projects across the Central and Eastern Time Zones. You will manage field operations, safety, productivity, schedules, and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers with the project manager.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of superintendent experience, OSHA 30-hour certification, and strong reading of structural drawings. A company vehicle, per diem, and benefits accompany the role.

Job Title:

Traveling Structural Steel Erection Superintendent

Location:

100% Traveling (Central and Eastern Time Zones)

Compensation:

$70-75/hr + $165/day per diem

Company Overview:

Tiello has partnered with a well-established Structural Steel Erector who is looking to add a Traveling Superintendent to their team, who has experience managing large-scale industrial structural steel erection projects.

Role Summary:

As a Superintendent, you will manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality of work, and sub-contractor and supplier coordination. You will work in conjunction with the project manager to lead the project team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Familiar with and comply with AISC standards & requirements of a certified erector for steel erection..
• Familiar with and comply with AWS, PCI, JCI, and SDI regulations..
• Achieve satisfactory results for AISC & PCI Internal Audits annually..
• Organize daily work schedules for various crews for maximum efficiency so that projects are completed on schedule, on budget, and safely..
• Training in basic first aid & CPR and must maintain up to date as required..
• Work well with general contractors, sub-contractors, fabricators, and fellow employees..
• Keep accurate and detailed job records and maintain weekly paperwork as required..Familiar with company policies and procedures and ensures compliance from employees and subcontractors under their supervision..
• Enforce company’s safety policies.
• Safety standards knowledge and enforcement.
• Ability to remain calm, focused and effective under time pressure situations.
• Self-starter with the ability to set goals and tasks with strong leadership skills.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Possess an understanding of building plans and specifications.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 5 years of Superintendent experience within the structural steel erection industry.
• Familiar with OSHA rules and regulations and have completed the 30-hour training certificate (currently within 5 years).
• Strong understanding of erection processes, shop workflow, and project lifecycle.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S..
