Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies is seeking a Traveling Superintendent who champions safety and quality on fast-paced projects nationwide. You will manage field operations from outside the trailer, directing subcontractors and coordinating with project teams to meet schedules and budgets.

This role requires 5–25 years of construction experience, travel across the country, and the ability to lead with integrity while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• 5-25 years of construction experience.
• Computer skills: proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling programs.
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing/walking for long periods, uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Able to organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to face challenges, direct others, and address conflict.
• Exhibit commitment to quality and meet/exceed customer expectations.
• Act with integrity and support for the company and employees.
• Ability to travel across the country is required.
• Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend post-award review meetings to receive project information and preplanning details.
• Coordinate with project manager to prepare schedules, staffing, and equipment requirements.
• Direct and control the total construction project to meet specs and timelines.
• Assist project manager/engineer with material shipments and approvals of shop drawings.
• Coordinate subcontractors to integrate their work with project schedules.
• Inform supervisors/subcontractors of schedule changes promptly.
• Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports.
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and reports.
• Collaborate with owner representatives and architects as needed.
• Lead site meetings with project manager and regional manager.
• Report progress to project manager and flag potential cost/schedule risks.
• Maintain daily diary of significant project events and approvals.
• Adhere to the company's safety program across all phases.
