Role Summary

The Superintendent will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. This role is responsible for managing materials, equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, all aligned with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Lead safety culture and promote an injury-free environment; investigate incidents and retrain staff as needed.
• Manage subcontractors and organize overall project workflow.
• Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or parts of larger projects.
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinate project site care, custody, and control.
• Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
• Participate in project progress and OAC meetings.
• Manage and update project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Track and monitor project budget and costs using project management systems.
• Communicate project information to all stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and logs.
• Approve and record unit costs, complete reports, and track progress.
• Manage material and equipment needs.
• Support procurement processes.
• Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
• Manage timecard approval and ensure accurate reporting.
• Ensure quality compliance and supervise project closeouts.
• Participate in project pursuit and planning activities.
• Establish field staffing and manage project changes and negotiations.
• Contribute to project reviews and meetings.
• Understand and apply contractual terms.
• Identify and recruit top talent.
• Promote diversity and inclusion policies.

• Manage fairly complex projects from start to finish.
• Handle management, scheduling, safety, and quality for assigned projects.
• Identify and manage project risks.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
• At least 5+ years of construction experience and 3+ years of supervision experience.
• Experience with Lean principles is a plus.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May require travel or relocation.
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, and reaching.
