JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Role Summary
The Superintendent will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. This position is responsible for managing material and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, all in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Lead all aspects of the company's safety culture, demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment, investigate safety incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
- Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
- Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or parts of larger projects.
- Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinate and manage the project site.
- Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
- Participate in project meetings and manage project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Track and monitor project budget and costs using management systems.
- Communicate key project information to stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation and logs.
- Approve and record unit cost information, complete reports, and evaluate progress.
- Manage material and equipment needs.
- Support procurement processes.
- Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
- Manage timecard approvals and ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure quality compliance and support project closeouts.
- Participate in project pursuit and planning processes.
- Establish field staffing and manage project changes and negotiations.
- Participate in project reviews and buyout meetings.
- Understand and apply contract terms and conditions.
- Identify and recruit top talent.
- Promote diversity and inclusion policies.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage complex stand-alone projects from start to finish.
- Handle management, scheduling, safety, and quality aspects of projects.
- Identify and manage project risks.
- Manage deliverables from internal resources.
- Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.

Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience
- At least 5 years of construction experience.
- At least 3 years of field supervision experience.
- Experience with Lean principles preferred.
Working Environment
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require travel or relocation.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional sitting and computer work.
