JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Role Summary

The Superintendent 2 will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. This position will be responsible for managing material and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture and create safety awareness, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or parts of larger projects.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage project site care, custody, and control.
  • Lead meetings such as daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project progress and OAC meetings.
  • Manage and adjust project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Track and monitor project budget and costs using project management systems.
  • Communicate key project information to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation and update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
  • Approve and record unit costs, complete reports, and track project progress.
  • Manage material and equipment needs.
  • Support procurement and approval processes.
  • Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
  • Manage timecard approvals and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Ensure quality compliance through specifications, standards, QA/QC, and outside resources.
  • Support project closeouts and coordinate activities with relevant parties.
  • Understand project pursuit processes and contribute to project planning.
  • Establish field staffing in partnership with field leadership.
  • Identify and manage project risks and changes.
  • Participate in negotiations and project reviews.
  • Lead talent recruitment and promote diversity and inclusion policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage fairly complex projects from start to finish.
  • Handle management, scheduling, production, safety, and quality for assigned projects.
  • Understand and manage project risks.
  • Identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Manage deliverables from internal resources.
  • Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of construction management fundamentals, project processes, and trades.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Preferred).
Experience
  • 5+ years of construction experience.
  • 3+ years of field supervision experience.
  • Experience with Lean principles and industrial projects (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May require travel, work in extreme conditions, and non-traditional hours.
