Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on justice/corrections projects across Georgia and the Southeast, with travel to Florida and the Carolinas as needed. The role emphasizes supervision of craft and subcontractor teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to high standards.

Per diem is provided for eligible travelers. The candidate should have strong experience with active/occupied detention facilities, a history of delivering

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of supervisory experience in construction.
• Strong experience leading active/occupied detention facility projects.
• Ability to travel to project assignments throughout Florida and Southeast.
• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, evaluate and terminate craft personnel.
• Supervise craft personnel and contractors to ensure design, budget and schedule compliance.
• Assist management with drawings and construction methods.
• Ensure safety compliance on-site and promote a safe environment.
• Travel to project locations across Georgia and Southeast.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions.
• Provide technical assistance and interpret drawings.
• Enforce project procedures and safety policies with the Safety Director.
• Oversee productivity and material/equipment use.
• Perform/building layout and field engineering as required.
