Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, seeks a hands-on Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on active/occupied detention facility projects. You will supervise craft and subcontractor teams, ensure safety compliance, and maintain schedule and budget while interfacing with client representatives.

The role requires travel across Georgia and the Southeast, with assignments across Georgia and into Florida and the Carolinas as project needs require.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of supervisory experience in the construction field.
• Strong experience leading active/occupied detention facility projects.
• Ability to travel to project assignments throughout Florida; flexibility to travel more broadly across the Southeast.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, evaluate and terminate craft personnel, following company policies.
• Supervise craft personnel and contractors to ensure project is built to design, budget and schedule.
• Assist project management with drawings interpretations and methods.
• Ensure all personnel comply with safety procedures.
• Promote a safe work environment and productivity.
• Travel to and work from project locations across Georgia and Southeast.
