Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations, oversee craft and subcontractor teams, and ensure safe, on-time project delivery across Georgia and beyond.

You will report to the General Superintendent and travel to sites throughout the Southeast, including Florida and the Carolinas, with per diem for eligible travelers; experience with active/occupied prison projects is required.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of supervisory experience in the construction field.
• Strong experience leading active/occupied detention facility projects.
• Willingness to travel across Florida and the Southeast.
• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
• Thorough knowledge of construction methods and safety requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise total construction effort to meet design, budget and schedule.
• Travel to and work from project locations across Georgia and Southeast.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions.
• Supervise craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract.
• Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods.
• Ensure safety program requirements are followed on site.
• Manage productivity and use of materials and equipment.
• Perform and supervise building layout and field engineering.
