The position requires extensive national travel, hands‑on involvement in day‑to‑day jobsite activities, and strong coordination with customers, subcontractors, and internal operations teams.

This role serves as the primary onsite leader, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all project requirements and quality standards. The position requires extensive national travel, hands‑on involvement in day‑to‑day jobsite activities, and strong coordination with customers, subcontractors, and internal operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction of large‑scale asphalt and concrete parking lot projects throughout the United States from pre‑construction through final closeout.
• Oversee project setup and preparation prior to the start of construction, including site mobilization, staging, and resource planning.
• Review project scope, plans, specifications, materials, and requirements to fully understand each project and align field activities accordingly.
• Coordinate the timely delivery of equipment, materials, and resources to job sites to maintain project schedules and minimize downtime.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors throughout all phases of assigned projects, ensuring performance, safety, and quality standards are met.
• Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for customers, building strong relationships through consistent communication and reliable follow‑through.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, subcontractors, the National Operations Manager, and Operations Coordinator to align expectations and resolve issues.
• Provide consistent project updates and progress reports to both the client and internal team, including schedule status, budget impacts, and key milestones.
• Document daily project progress, site conditions, and activities, and proactively address issues to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Manage projects within established budgets, monitoring costs and identifying opportunities for savings without compromising quality or safety.
• Negotiate project‑related items as needed, including changes and additional work, and accurately track changes, extra work, and change orders.
• Perform regular quality‑control inspections to ensure work meets project scope, specifications, cleanliness, and overall quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients throughout the project lifecycle, including recommendations for improvements or enhancements.
• Collaborate with other Project Managers to share resources, provide support, and resolve project challenges across multiple concurrent projects.
• Promote a strong safety culture on every job site with a focus on preventing injuries and incidents and reinforcing safe work practices.
• Partner with the safety team to ensure subcontractors and onsite personnel follow established safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform or coordinate minor onsite repairs, such as signs, bollards, and similar items, as needed to maintain site functionality and appearance.
• Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with new subcontractors to strengthen the vendor network and support future company growth and project capacity.
• Ensure all field operations comply with project specifications, local regulations, and company policies, including documentation and reporting requirements.
• Travel nationally to project sites, providing consistent onsite leadership and oversight across multiple locations.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in commercial construction or paving projects.
• Demonstrated experience in construction management, including oversight of field operations and subcontractor coordination.
• Proven ability to develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, resources, and schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, including the ability to evaluate how project decisions impact budgets and profitability.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including the ability to prepare reports, schedules, and project documentation.
• Ability to perform physical and manual labor as needed, including lifting up to 70 pounds and working in active construction environments.
• Experience in construction and paving, particularly asphalt paving, with familiarity in asphalt materials and processes.
• Ability to travel up to 100% of the time to project sites across the United States.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates to customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to lead onsite teams, enforce safety standards, and maintain high‑quality workmanship under demanding schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Paving industry and/or project management experience is preferred.
• Experience with mix designs and pavement specifications is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• First Aid and Flagger Certification, and other site‑specific safety certifications are preferred.
• SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving practices and materials is a plus.
• Ability to identify and develop relationships with new subcontractors to expand the vendor network.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with customers and vendors through consistent communication and reliable follow‑through.
• Ability to negotiate project‑related items, including change orders and additional work, in a fair and professional manner.

Work Environment

This position is field‑based and involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role requires travel to onsite work locations across the United States, with up to 100% travel expected. Reliable transportation and flexibility with travel schedules are essential. The typical schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as project demands require. The work environment is active and hands‑on, involving regular presence on construction sites, coordination with subcontractors, and direct oversight of paving and concrete operations. All necessary safety equipment and training are provided to support a secure and productive work environment, and safety standards are emphasized on every job site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
