Job summary

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring Traveling Structural Flux-Core Welders to join a skilled team across several job sites. The pay rate is up to $35/hour plus $100 per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the jobsite.

You will perform FCAW welding on structural steel, read weld symbols, and ensure quality across beams, columns, and assemblies. Expect extended shifts, overtime, and a focus on safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Must pass weld tests.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication.
• Strong FCAW/Flux-Core welding experience.
• Experience with heavy fabrication.
• Experience welding beams, columns, and structural assemblies.
• Proficiency with groove and fillet welds.
• Experience working from WPS requirements.
• Ability to read structural drawings and weld symbols.
• AWS or other recognized structural welding certifications preferred.
• Current or expired welding certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel welding in a fabrication shop environment.
• Weld light and heavy beams, columns, and structural assemblies.
• Perform FCAW/Flux-Core welding in accordance with project specifications.
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Read and interpret structural drawings and welding symbols.
• Perform groove and fillet welds to required quality standards.
• Maintain production requirements while ensuring weld quality.
• Inspect completed welds and make necessary corrections or repairs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as required by the project.

• Read and interpret structural drawings and welding symbols
• Perform groove and fillet welds to required quality standards
• Maintain production requirements while ensuring weld quality
• Inspect completed welds and make necessary corrections or repairs

Requirements:

• Previous experience with structural steel fabrication
• Strong FCAW/Flux-Core welding experience
• Experience with heavy fabrication

• Experience working from WPS requirements
• Ability to read structural drawings and weld symbols
• AWS or other recognized structural welding certifications are preferred
