Job summary

Tradesmen International is actively hiring experienced Structural Flux Core Welders for projects in and around Pocatello, ID. This night shift role offers a pay rate up to $35/hour based on experience, plus a $120 per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the jobsite.

The job involves welding structural steel in shop environments, reading drawings, and following WPS. Candidates should have FCAW expertise and welding certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel welding required.
• Strong FCAW experience.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
• AWS or other recognized structural welding certifications preferred.
• Current or expired welding certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on steel beams, columns, and assemblies.
• Weld light and heavy structural steel in a fabrication shop.
• Complete structural steel prefabrication for data center projects.
• Perform FCAW in accordance with project specifications.
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural prints, and weld symbols.
• Perform groove and fillet welds to required quality standards.
• Inspect welds and perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain production while ensuring weld quality.
• Work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Job Scope:

• Perform structural welding on steel beams, columns, and fabricated assemblies
• Weld light and heavy structural steel in a fabrication shop environment
• Complete structural steel prefabrication for data center projects
• Perform FCAW (Flux-Core Arc Welding) in accordance with project specifications
• Follow applicable Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural prints, and weld symbols
• Perform groove and fillet welds to required quality standards
• Inspect completed welds and make necessary corrections or repairs
• Maintain production requirements while ensuring weld quality
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as required by project needs

Requirements:

• Previous structural steel welding experience required
• Strong FCAW (Flux-Core Arc Welding) experience
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• Experience working with heavy structural steel and fabricated assemblies preferred
• Experience working from WPS requirements
• AWS or other recognized structural welding certifications preferred
• Current or expired welding certifications are encouraged
• Ability to meet welding quality and production standards
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment
