Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking a highly motivated traveling Staff Engineer to join our team. This role involves frequent travel to support renewable energy, infrastructure, and mission critical projects.

Responsibilities include field oversight, testing, and coordinating with project leads. A BS in geotechnical/civil engineering and 2+ years of experience are preferred, with a valid driver’s license and significant travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering field.
• Two or more years of construction materials testing or geotechnical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required and willingness to travel 60–90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field personnel on remote job sites and coordinate observations with the project lead.
• Perform field testing and observations at remote sites and assist with training.
• Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical projects.
• Review field logs, soils data, and boring logs for accuracy.
• Prepare engineering reports for senior review and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded and coordinate staffing with regional operations.
• Support client relationships to achieve power, renewables, and mission critical goals.

Braun Intertec is seeking a highly motivated traveling Staff Engineer to join our team. This role involves frequent travel to support renewable energy, infrastructure, and mission critical projects.

Renewable energy and infrastructure projects are large‑scale developments that generate electricity and move it across long distances. These are utility‑scale projects that require engineering, construction, and grid‑integration work to expand and strengthen the energy system.

Mission critical projects are land‑intensive developments that create unique geotechnical challenges, such as major grade changes, heavily loaded structures, complex below‑grade utility and duct bank networks, and fast‑paced construction schedules. Their speed and complexity demand close oversight to quickly identify and resolve issues, reduce risk for all stakeholders, and provide the technical expertise needed to exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform oversight of other field personnel on remote job sites.
• Perform various field testing and observations at remote job sites.
• Assist field operations on remote projects with technician training and review.
• Closely coordinate field observations with engineering project lead.
• Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering projects, primarily in the power and renewables or mission critical field.
• Prepare proposals for moderate to complex projects.
• Review field logs and soil samples for classification and boring log preparation.
• Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies.
• Prepares engineering reports for senior review.
• Manage routine to complex geotechnical engineering projects including project scope, schedule, budget, and safety.
• Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope with Senior review.
• Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
• Coordinate with regional operations to effectively coordinate staff, resources, and workloads.
• Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
• Support client relationships to effectively achieve power, renewables, and mission critical market-sector goals and strategies.
• Must be action oriented, able to effectively/efficiently manage time, and able to learn quickly.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) ingeotechnical, civil, or related engineering field required.
• Two or more years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience with large-scale construction projects preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Expected travel is 60 to 90%.

Compensation Range:

$50,000.00 - $74,000.00
