Job summary

Nicholas County Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (Itinerant) to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in school-age children across multiple sites.

The candidate must hold a Professional SLP PK-AD certificate and ASHA certification (or be willing to obtain). A WV background check is required. This position reports to the Special Education Director/Lead Speech Pathologist and aligns with NCBOE policies.

Qualifications

  • Professional SLP PK-AD certificate required.
  • ASHA Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Criminal background check in WV as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Identify children with speech-language problems.
  • Screen, appraise, and diagnose speech-language impairments.
  • Refer for medical/other professional attention as needed.
  • Provide services for prevention of communication impairments.
  • Counsel and guide parents, children, and teachers.
  • Participate in county Child Find system and IEP teams.
  • Manage caseload and scheduling; maintain documentation.
