Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced engineer to manage Special Systems for data centers and other facilities. You will lead the review of contract documents, coordinate information flow, and oversee RFIs, change orders, and turnover activities.

The role requires working knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI standards, plus experience with low voltage IT infrastructure and a strong capability to supervise diverse teams across project phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in advancing construction design and field installations of Low Voltage and IT infrastructure.
• Experience with installation of one or more major IT infrastructure systems.
• Working knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
• Strong communication, time management, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as key Special Systems Engineering resource to project, providing extensive and comprehensive knowledge of contract documents.
• Establish, communicate, and maintain Special Systems procedures with design professionals, consultants, owner and subcontractors.
• Conduct thorough Special Systems construction document reviews and raise concerns for resolution.
• Prepare and manage Special Systems RFIs processing.
• Prepare and manage Contract Items List for Special Systems components to align with project schedule.
• Prepare Special Systems project studies to support materials, methods, and cost estimates.
• Prepare Special Systems project status reports and elevate risks to Project Manager.
• Schedule, conduct, and document Special Systems meetings for alignment of activities.
• Participate in creating and implementing QC Plan with Special Systems project team.
• Supervise and develop Special Systems Engineering employees and participate in hiring and performance reviews.
