Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee large-scale solar projects nationwide. You will lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery, and travel up to 100%.

This role requires 3+ years in solar or commercial construction supervision, OSHA 30, and proven leadership; candidates must be willing to travel across the United States and work with project teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in solar, electrical, or commercial construction supervision.
• 3+ years of people leadership in commercial construction.
• Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to enable growth and development.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, racking, foundations, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and drive projects to completion.
• OSHA 30 certification or higher.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Willingness to travel to anywhere in the United States to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the construction and installation of large-scale commercial solar projects from start to finish.
• Ensure quality control, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with industry standards.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, crew members, and suppliers to keep projects on track.
• Conduct safety meetings and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure a zero-incident job site.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to problem-solve and optimize site operations.
• Maintain daily reports, track progress, and communicate updates with leadership.
