Role Summary

The Senior Superintendent will plan, manage, and execute all aspects of significantly complex or multiple projects. Responsibilities include managing teams, planning construction sequencing, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, supporting JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Lead safety initiatives and foster an injury-free culture.
• Manage subcontractors and organize overall project workflow.
• Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO.
• Develop work plans and coordinate project site activities.
• Lead meetings and participate in project progress reviews.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and costs.
• Communicate with stakeholders including owners, design teams, and authorities.
• Ensure proper documentation and quality standards.
• Support project closeouts and team collaboration.
• Participate in project pursuit and marketing activities.
• Identify and recruit top talent, promote diversity and inclusion.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

• Manage multiple projects from planning to completion, possibly with multiple superintendents.
• Influence delivery results and support strategic initiatives.
• Engage in business and community activities to build relationships.
• Develop new business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
• Manage project risks, problems, and deliverables.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of construction processes, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
• Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and ensure safety and quality.
• Understanding of layout, crane flagging, and rigging.
• Ability to interpret document changes and impact on schedules.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years construction experience.
• 8+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience with Lean principles is a plus.

Working Environment

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Travel and/or relocation may be required.
• Exposure to extreme conditions and non-traditional hours.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, etc.
