Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking a Traveling Senior MEP Superintendent to lead field operations across the Southeast. You’ll manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, on-time installation of complex systems on mission critical projects.

The role requires strong MEP knowledge, field leadership, and willingness to travel to project sites. Data center experience and GC/MEP contractor background are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction supervisory experience with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Strong experience leading MEP field work on data center projects through construction and turnover.
• Willingness to travel and stay near project sites, primarily in the Southeast.
• Experience with a commercial general contractor or MEP subcontractor preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, trade coordination, sequencing, and safety.
• Ability to lead subcontractors, solve field challenges, and communicate with project teams and clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily MEP field operations, including subcontractors, manpower, materials, equipment, and trade sequencing.
• Oversee MEP work to ensure installation aligns with drawings, specifications, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Interpret construction documents, resolve field issues, and provide technical guidance on complex MEP systems and installation methods.
• Coordinate MEP work with other trades, project management, clients, and inspectors, with attention to system integration in mission critical environments.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, and resource needs; address issues affecting milestones.
• Enforce safety requirements, document concerns, and coordinate corrective actions with Safety leadership.
• Oversee MEP layout, field engineering, and coordination activities.
• Review field documentation, purchase requisitions, subcontractor work, and change requests as applicable.
• Support project procedures, reporting, and turnover activities.
