Job summary

The Menta Education Group is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring the safety and functionality of Menta properties, including Illinois school locations in Springfield, Taylorville, Nokomis, Havana and other southern/central Illinois sites.

This full-time role offers mileage reimbursement, benefits, and Paid Time Off. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, basic repairs, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and responding to work orders.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Able to perform physical, manual labor.
• General experience performing carpentry and drywall repairs.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to schedule and work hours as needed.
• Willingness to travel to school locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance to Illinois school locations in Springfield, Havana, Taylorville, and Nokomis, with as-needed support to Centralia, Marion, Millstadt, and Belleville.
• Report safety concerns to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Respond to work order requests.
• Install, repair, and replace plumbing equipment, and open clogged drains with appropriate tools.
• Repair or replace electrical wiring, ballast and fixtures.
• Construct and repair partitions and other wooden structures using appropriate materials and tools.
• Paint walls, floors, woodwork, and fixtures using appropriate materials and tools.
