Job summary

The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is seeking a Safety and Security Supervisor to lead the department’s emergency preparedness and security efforts across 40+ offices statewide. You will oversee the Safety and Security Unit, coordinate drills, evacuations, and security procedures, and work with internal and external partners to protect people and property.

Reporting to the Supervisor II, you will manage staff, programs, and procurement related to health, safety, and building

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating safety/security programs and projects.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work across multiple offices and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, exercises, evacuations.
• Develop, implement and monitor emergency preparedness policies and security procedures.
• Oversee daily operations of the Safety and Security Unit including personnel management, health/safety, and building access systems.
• Coordinate with DIR and building staff during emergencies with internal and external subject matter experts.
• Manage related procurement efforts for the department.
