Job summary

AVI Foodsystems, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Registered Dietitian for our School Services Division. The role provides nutrition leadership, regulatory guidance, menu development and operational support across public and private school dining programs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in public school nutrition programs, knowledge of USDA meal patterns, NSLP regulations, and proficiency with school nutrition software and menu systems. Travel between school locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Dietetics from an accredited program.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) through the CDR and licensed in the work state.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition services and NSLP/USDA guidelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff and school admins.
• Capability to counsel and educate individuals and groups.
• Familiarity with nutrient analysis; expect teamwork with operations.
• Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and document nutrition intervention plans.
• Provide timely follow-up and documentation.
• Assess varied populations and cultural needs in nutrition care.
• Evaluate outcomes of medical nutrition therapy and adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with foodservice teams to ensure diet prescriptions.
• Offer nutrition counseling to individuals and groups.
• Support community projects and educational activities.
• Conduct in-services and educational presentations.
• Maintain productivity and accurate daily records incl. billing.
