Job summary

Colorado West Construction is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on commercial projects, based from our Murrieta, CA HQ. You will coordinate subcontractors, maintain safety, and ensure work matches plans and specs on a fast-paced job site. Travel is 100% across the Western U.S.

including UT, NV, CA, AZ. The role requires 5+ years in superintendent roles, strong reading of drawings, Procore and MS Office proficiency, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Superintendent on commercial projects.
• 3+ years on retail, grocery, open store remodels.
• Ability to read plans and communicate with crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead the onsite crew and subcontractors to complete work safely and correctly.
• Build and maintain the project schedule and update look-ahead plans.
• Coordinate materials, equipment deliveries, inspections, and daily sequencing.
• Enforce safety requirements and hold subcontractors accountable.
• Review drawings and RFIs; flag conflicts early.
• Document daily activity and report to the Project Manager.
• Run jobsite meetings and manage punch lists and close-out.

Position Overview

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Superintendent to run day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects. You will coordinate subcontractors, keep the project on schedule, maintain a clean and safe jobsite, and ensure the work matches the plans and specs. This role requires strong communication, jobsite leadership, and hands-on problem solving. You must be able to take ownership of the site and keep work moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the onsite crew and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and correctly.
• Build and maintain the project schedule and update two-week look-ahead plans.
• Coordinate materials, equipment deliveries, inspections, and daily work sequencing.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements and hold subcontractors accountable.
• Review drawings and RFIs; flag conflicts and communicate issues early.
• Document daily job activity and send updates to the Project Manager.
• Run jobsite meetings and track progress through punch list and close-out.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in a Superintendent role required
• 3+ years experience in commercial construction projects in the following industries: retail, grocery, open store remodels.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
• Ability to read plans and communicate clearly with crews and subs.
• Procore experience preferred (or ability to learn quickly).
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors, bend, kneel, climb, stand for extended periods, use of hand tools, etc.
• Valid CA driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites, dependable transportation require
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Job Type: Full Time

Annual Salary : $90k-140k *Competitive base salary based on verified experience

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-hour shift

Travel: 100% travel required | Western U.S. (including but not limited to UT, NV, CA, AZ) | Murrieta, CA HQ
