Job summary

Green Key Resources partners with an established, employee-owned general contractor to seek an experienced Traveling Project Manager to lead multifamily construction projects across multiple markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PM with a strong ground-up multifamily background who enjoys ownership and collaboration with owners, field teams, design partners, and subcontractors. The role requires travel to project locations in the Midwest and surrounding markets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Strong ground-up multifamily construction experience.
• Willingness to travel based on project needs.
• Excellent communication, leadership and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multifamily projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, forecasts, cost reports.
• Lead subcontractor bidding, buyout, contract administration, and performance.
• Drive field execution with the Superintendent.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Lead owner meetings and provide progress updates.
• Identify issues before they impact the project.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the construction process.
• Travel to project locations as required (Midwest).

We are partnering with an established, employee-owned general contractor seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to lead multifamily construction projects across multiple markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong ground-up multifamily background who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working closely with owners, field teams, design partners, and subcontractors.

Their multifamily experience includes large apartment communities, mixed-use developments, senior living and rental-home communities.

What You'll Do

• Manage multifamily projects from preconstruction through final closeout
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost reports
• Lead subcontractor bidding, buyout, contract administration, and performance
• Partner closely with the Superintendent to drive field execution
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
• Lead project and owner meetings while providing clear progress updates
• Identify potential cost, schedule, quality, and constructability issues before they impact the project
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the construction process
• Ensure projects meet expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance
• Travel to project locations as required (Midwest)

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience
• Strong experience with ground-up multifamily construction
• Experience with apartments, mixed-use, senior living, student housing, or similar residential developments
• Proven ability to manage projects from preconstruction through turnover
• Strong knowledge of budgets, forecasting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and change management
• Ability to successfully lead project teams in a traveling environment
• Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Willingness to travel based on project needs
