Job Description: Construction Project Leader - Data Centers

Division: Critical Facilities-Data Centers

Location: Raleigh, NC 27601 USA

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time, Traveling Assignment

Classification: Experienced

Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree plus at least 18 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: Salaried Exempt

This position involves leading and managing all phases of multiple projects from preconstruction to closeout, supporting advanced technology projects across various market segments including Data Centers, Pharmaceuticals, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables. The role includes developing client relationships, supervising teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, and contributing to business development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and sustain long-term client and community relationships to foster future business opportunities.
  2. Build high-performance project teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring, with regular performance feedback.
  3. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to secure new projects.
  4. Ensure compliance with ethics and project-specific regulations.
  5. Lead risk assessments, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies.
  6. Manage multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout, including schedule and budget oversight.
  7. Implement and oversee project schedules and financial management strategies.
  8. Support utilization of innovative project technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lean methodologies.
  9. Administer quality assurance and quality control programs.
  10. Enforce safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture.
  11. Engage with the community and leverage resources to meet business goals.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 18 years' related experience or equivalent. Strong knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced presentation skills. Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and project schedules. Experience with BIM and Lean methodologies. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work in construction environments. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks required on-site.

Work Environment: On-site at construction locations with exposure to mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, weather conditions, and electrical hazards. Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.
