Hillwood Construction Services is hiring a Project Engineer to join our growing team, based in Houston, TX and Cincinnati, OH. Travel will be required, and relocation may be considered for qualified candidates.

The role focuses on project coordination, documentation, and communication to keep projects on schedule and within budget. You will work with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, developing skills to progress toward a Project Manager role within 1–4 years, through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in building construction related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in commercial general contracting or related roles.
• Internships or co-op experience in construction are a plus.
• Experience with project management software strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre‑construction planning and meetings; prepare minutes.
• Support buy‑out, estimating, value engineering, and logistics planning.
• Assist procurement, track long lead times, coordinate materials.
• Coordinate schedules with Project Manager, Superintendent, and subs.
• Manage project documents: logs, submittals, drawings, transmittals.
• Support budgets and schedules oversight with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with owners and consultants; prepare status reports.
• Assist permit submissions with government agencies.
• Provide technical information to ensure code and drawing compliance.
• Support punch lists, O&M packages, and system start‑ups at closeout.
