Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp is seeking a detail-oriented Project Controls Engineer for a full-time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology Data Center project. You will oversee prime contract management, scheduling, cost control and change order processes across multiple district projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years’ experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls required.
• Experience with complex scheduling and cost control processes required.
• Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes required.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting, required.
• Able to identify cost reduction strategies in schedule, quantities or contract specifications that align with project budget and design specification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes contract management records to provide technical advice and project control guidance.
• Assists with cost controls reporting and reconciliation for one District or Mega Project, providing reports to the Project Controls Director for Division-level summaries.
• Supports the scheduling process for District or Mega Projects, including bid phase, project schedule creation, monthly reporting, and schedule updates.
• Integrates company systems to track, monitor, and control costs or schedules and ensure proper training and usage.
• Conducts regular project reviews and monitors job cost reports against KPIs.
• Coordinates with the Division Claims/Contract Manager to track change orders and claims.
• Tracks activities related to unsecured revenue and project contingencies.
• Monitors and controls project cash flow by tracking over/under billing.
• Assists with resource and cost loading to the schedule, including labor projections and productivity trend reporting.
