Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking a field position focused on safety, reliability, and maintenance of wooden utility poles, with extensive travel involved. You will learn inspection procedures, safety rules, and industry standards to assess pole conditions and related equipment.

You will train to document findings, collect field data, and report per regulations while supporting maintenance planning and operations across diverse outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Possess a current/valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI/DWIs within the past 5 years.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
• Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
• Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 40lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities to successfully complete job tasks while accepting full responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle, equipment, and tools.
• Possess a professional attitude that will positively represent the organization to clients and the communities in which they work.

Responsibilities

• Undergo training to understand the basics of utility pole inspections, utility pole components, maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
• Learn and follow inspection procedures to evaluate the condition of utility poles including checking for structural integrity, signs of deterioration, pest infestation and damage caused by weather or external factors.
• Assist in identifying potential issues with utility poles and contribute to developing a maintenance plan.
• Complete inspection records, and report and follow appropriate codes and regulations.
• Collect field data and perform daily and weekly reporting activities.
• Maintain and keep records up to date on all tools, electronics, vehicles, and equipment.
• Adhere to company and government safety regulations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
