Job summary

The Tohono O'odham Nation seeks an Optometrist to deliver diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic eye care at Sells hospital and related centers. The role may require relocation to TONHC facilities and up to 50% travel between sites, reporting to the Optometry Supervisor.

Responsibilities include comprehensive optometric services, prescribing lenses, and coordinating care with ophthalmology. The incumbent must hold a current optometry license and have clinical experience.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited program and license to practice optometry.
• Minimum one year of clinical optometry experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to multiple facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive optometric services including diagnosis, prevention, and therapy.
• Prescribe vision aids, perform eye function evaluations, and treat visual disorders.
• Document examinations and care plans; coordinate with Ophthalmology staff.
