Job summary

Sequoia Services seeks an experienced On-Site Safety Manager for a heavy civil project. You will lead safety programs, conduct inspections, and ensure OSHA compliance across North Carolina sites. This role demands strong leadership, clear communication, and proactive hazard control.

You will train teams, investigate incidents, and maintain comprehensive safety documentation, driving a culture of safety on travel projects throughout the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related technical field with 5+ years’ experience in a general industry/construction safety environment.
• OSHA 500 Training Course completion is required or beneficial.
• Construction safety certifications (CUSP/SMS/CHST) with 5+ years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures per OSHA regulations and company guidelines.
• Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess safety measures.
• Provide on-site safety leadership and support to project teams and subcontractors.
• Perform job hazard analyses (JHA) and risk assessments to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training, including orientation and toolbox talks.
