Job summary

Sequoia Services LLC is seeking an experienced On-Site Safety Manager for a heavy civil construction project. You will oversee all safety aspects, implement programs, conduct training, and ensure OSHA compliance across projects traveling throughout North Carolina.

Responsibilities include leading safety programs, conducting inspections, facilitating training, investigating incidents, and maintaining thorough safety records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field.
• Five years’ experience in a general industry/construction safety environment.
• OSHA 500 Training or equivalent.
• CUSP, SMS, and CHST certifications preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations and company guidelines.
• Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess safety measure effectiveness.
• Provide on-site safety leadership and support to project teams and subcontractors.
• Conduct JHA and risk assessments to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs, including orientation and toolbox talks.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and regulatory requirements across the project.
• Investigate incidents and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain records of safety incidents, inspections, and training.
• Lead regular safety meetings and promote a safety-conscious culture.
• Collaborate with management to maintain a safe work environment and report safety metrics.
