Sequoia Services LLC in North Carolina seeks a Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent – Dam Division to lead safety, schedules, and field operations across the Southeast. This role requires extensive field oversight, coordination with foremen, subcontractors, and vendors, and a focus on dam construction and rehabilitation projects.

You will review drawings and specs, manage budgets, and ensure environmental and quality compliance while traveling the Southeast.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong reading of construction drawings and specs.
• Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.
• Safety-focused with OSHA credentials.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to supervise foremen, crews, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of cofferdams, dewatering, and earthwork.
• Proficient in communicating across teams.
• Able to navigate rough terrain on active sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction safety protocols.
• Ensure environmental and quality compliance on all projects.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to provide data for cost tracking and efficiency analysis.
• Review and interpret contract documents, including specifications, drawings, and designs.
• Work with estimating teams to build estimates prior and during construction.
• Schedule and manage construction activities, including crews, equipment, and subcontractors to provide the most efficiency.
• Review timesheets and phase codes.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets, taking necessary actions to keep projects on track with established milestones.
• Maintain discipline in field operations while managing schedules and budgets effectively.

Job Title: Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent - Dam Division

This will be based in North Carolina but require travel throughout the Southeast region.

• Preferred experience in concrete and geotechnical construction.


• Understanding of various soil classifications.


• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach to ensuring task comprehension among team members.


• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.


• Safety-focused, with preferred 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certifications.


• Physically capable of navigating job sites, including steep or rugged terrain.
