Job summary

New Urban Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support multiple multifamily communities across the Raleigh and Durham markets. The technician performs service requests, unit turnover work, preventive maintenance, and general repairs across an assigned portfolio, traveling between sites as directed.

The role requires strong skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and carpentry, plus a NC driver license and EPA 608 certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on maintenance experience in multifamily or similar facilities.
• EPA 608 certification (Type Two or Universal) is required.
• Competency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and carpentry.
• Valid NC driver license with reliable transportation and insurability.
• Computer literacy for property management software and mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests within 24 hours where practicable and update the community manager.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, drywall, and carpentry items.
• Respond to property emergencies per safety rules and on-call rotation.
• Escalate repairs requiring licensed trades or higher costs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspect vacant units for turnover readiness and coordinate painting/appliance replacement.
• Perform preventive maintenance and participate in weekly site inspections.
• Travel between Raleigh and Durham markets for coverage and maintain inventory.
