Job summary

Willmeng seeks an experienced Traveling MEP QA/QC professional for data center construction. You will ensure quality, code compliance and reliable performance of MEP systems across projects, inspecting installations, witnessing testing and enforcing QA/QC processes.

You will document non-conformances, coordinate with field teams, contractors and design teams to meet owner requirements and industry standards, with travel to multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a mechanical, electrical, construction management, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of hands-on MEP QA/QC experience on commercial or mission-critical projects; data center construction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems (UPS, switchgear, PDUs, generators, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, piping, fire suppression and monitoring).
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, TIA-942, and Uptime Institute criteria.
• Experience witnessing FAT/SAT and supporting commissioning activities; able to interpret test results and specify corrective actions.
• Proficient documentation skills with NCRs, inspection reports, test records, and QA/QC plan development.
• Proficiency with construction and QC tools/software (Bluebeam, Revit/AutoCAD basics, Procore, BIM 360).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections of MEP installations to verify conformity with contract documents and standards.
• Develop, implement and maintain QA/QC plans, checklists, and ITPs for MEP scopes.
• Witness FAT, SAT, commissioning activities and functional testing of critical systems.
• Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists and corrective action plans; track resolutions.
• Review submittals and drawings for compliance and coordinate with design and procurement teams.
• Coordinate with contractors, commissioning agents, owners and design engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Verify installation tolerances, clearances, labeling, grounding, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime).
• Train and mentor field quality personnel on QA/QC procedures and corrective actions.
• Record observations and generate reports using project management and QC software.
