Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a Traveling Medical Technologist for a 13‑week contract in Wheeling, WV. The MT will perform routine chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, molecular, and immunohematology procedures, ensuring prompt, accurate reporting of results.

Requirements include 2+ years of MT experience and AHA BLS certification; the role involves travel and coordination with healthcare teams, with benefits like health insurance, 401K matching, and licensing assistance.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Technologist experience (Certified Medical Technologist).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from lab or directly from patient.
• Prepare and test specimens including blood, urine, tissue, and other fluids.
• Perform hands-on blood draws, including site prep, pressure, and dressing.
• Monitor vitals when interacting with patients.
• Analyze and report test results.
• Enter data into medical databases and ensure accuracy.
