Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore is hiring a Medical Office Specialist (Medical Assistant) for our Urology Center. The role spans front and back office duties in outpatient settings and requires travel to Downtown Hospital, Glen Burnie and Ellicott City locations.

The successful candidate will greet patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, handle calls, take vitals, update EHR, and provide patient education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures
• Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
• Complete patient check-in and check-out processes
• Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
